Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez to perform at 2014 World Cup finals

Rapper Pitbull, Pop singer Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian Claudia Leitte will sing the official anthem at the upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The song titled ‘We Are One(Ole Ole) will be performed at the opening ceremony at the Arena de Sao Paulo on June 12.

An excited Pitbull tweeted about his upcoming performance, ‘It’s official now lets make history @FIFAcom @JLo @ClaudiaLeitte #WeAreOne’.

While JLo on her part said ‘I grew up in a house that loved football, so I am thrilled to be performing at the World Cup Opening Ceremonies with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte’.

The pair follows in the line of internationally renowned stars that had sang the world cup anthems. Diana Ross sang the anthem at USA 1994, Senegalese Grammy Award winning act Yussouf N’dour and a French/Belgian artiste sang the France 1998 anthem, while American pop artiste Anastacia sang at the first jointly-hosted world cup in Korea/Japan (2012). R Kelly sang the theme song at South Africa 2010.

The track will be released later this year as part of the build up to finals. It will also be included in the forthcoming official 2014 FIFA World Cup Album.
